At any one time, there's a hundred different things going on within our Formula Student team, and it's my job to pull them all together as Team Manager.
I believe knowledge transfer is key within our Team. After all, it’s the junior Team members that will be running the show in the future, hence one of my personal aims for this year has been to spend time with new members to ensure a smooth transition period come the new racing season.
Alongside the managerial position, my Masters year project will involve the design and implementation of a traction and launch control system for our first electric vehicle, LJMU 19e. The system will be based on National Instruments' CompactRIO, programmed using NI LabView software.
After completing my Masters of Engineering, I'd like to work in the motorsport or automotive industry.
Deputy team Manager and head of statics
I’m a mature student having previously worked as a chef. I'm currently in my 3rd year of studying Mechanical Engineering, I have another year to go for my masters.
I chose to study at LJMU due to its brilliant facilities, engaging lecturers and opportunity to join the Formula Student team.
One of my main roles to date was to organise the Team’s relaunch as LJMU e-Racing Team. My main aim is to see LJMU e-Racing Team competing as a Class 1 entry in 2019.
I intend on working within the renewable energy sector or motorsport after graduating.
